My Chiropractic Success Story
About thirty years ago, my life changed forever. I was attending college in Madison, Wisconsin and was having a difficult time with classes because of daily headaches and migraines. At the age of 20, I had already been under medical care for several years and was constantly medicated with the "latest and greatest drug." Not only were the medications ineffective at reducing my pain, they actually caused more problems and seemed to increase the intensity of the headaches.

It was a friend who suggested I see a doctor of chiropractic. She explained to me that her entire family regularly saw a chiropractor for all types of health problems. They had begun chiropractic care because of the headaches and accompanying dizziness her mother had suffered. Before seeing a chiropractor, her mother had been to numerous doctors who prescribed all sorts of medications only to find that her headaches gradually got worse. Thousands of dollars later, medical doctors told her "there was nothing more they could do."

A neighbor suggested she try a doctor of chiropractic and even though she didn't believe in it, her pain was so intense by then that she was willing to give it a try. After only a few treatments her headaches and dizziness were gone.

After hearing this story, I asked my friend why she also saw a doctor of chiropractic when it was her mother who had suffered from headaches. She explained that her mother had learned from a neurologist that headaches and migraines could be hereditary. Since her mother didn't want her children to experience the same pain she had, she also took her children for chiropractic care. My friend had been headache free.

Frustrated by my experience with medical doctors and medication, and in constant pain, I decided to ignore my skepticism and take my friend's advice by trying chiropractic.

My chiropractor did the exam, took a few x-rays, and started care that day. I was amazed to discover that the morning after my first adjustment I woke up without a migraine or headache for the first time in years. Miraculously, I felt clear-headed. The daily headaches, the cloudiness, and my lack of focus had all disappeared.

I was so inspired by my success with chiropractic that I felt compelled to share it with the world. I changed my major and moved half way across the country to achieve my dream of becoming a chiropractor.

And now, I am so happy to be able to help my patients achieve the same health and wellness that chiropractic gave me!
